First Veneer Unloading Operation for SOGEMAR: The Lake St Clair at the Port of Caen

Navire-Lake-St-Clair-Port-Caen-8

The port of Caen hosted a new major logistics operation with the arrival of the vessel Lake St Clair on October 13, 2024, for the unloading of wood veneer destined for European markets. This mission, carried out by the company SOGEMAR, marks a first in the company’s activities: it is indeed the first time that SOGEMAR has unloaded veneer on behalf of the maritime company BOCS.

A Complex and Unprecedented Unloading

The Lake St Clair docked at the port of Caen after several days of navigation from the port of Libreville. The unloading operations began on the morning of October 14, under the supervision of SOGEMAR’s experienced teams. This veneer unloading required special attention due to the fragility and specific characteristics of the product.
The operation was completed on October 15 at noon, after a day and a half of work.
